Madeline Colosimo graduated from Iowa State University in 2019 from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a BS in Microbiology and a minor in Emerging Global Diseases. After graduating, Madeline began veterinary school at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 and decided to begin a concurrent MS/DVM program under Drs Allenspach, Jergens, Mochel and Mickelson. Madeline’s research focuses on phenotypically characterizing canine urothelial carcinoma organoids and healthy canine urinary organoids and to draw comparisons between their cell surface marker expression. Subsequent research will involve using the canine urothelial carcinoma organoids to test the cytotoxic effects of different classes of anticancer drugs. Aside from studying or working, Madeline enjoys spending her free time with family and friends.
